Dr. Paul Wyrwoll

Paul is an environmental and natural resources economist at the Australian National University. Prior to beginning his PhD on hydropower economics, he worked with the International Centre for Environmental Management, Hanoi on water, energy, and food security issues in the Lower Mekong Basin. He has also worked in groundwater management in the minerals industry.

The main focus of his current research is the integration of environmental water flows into hydropower operations. Paul uses economic theory and modelling to evaluate policy instruments that seek to balance the social, economic and environmental trade-offs of hydropower dam operations under climate variability.
